Our chocolate bamboo floating shelves are carbonized bamboo veneer on multi layered solid poplar core for ultimate strength and dimensional stability. Finished with premium quality low-sheen clear conversion varnish over our proprietary chocolate bamboo stain. All shelves are made to order. (minimum size is 3" X 9", maximum is 16"X 93") These shelves are 2-4” thick. Please specify exact thickness required in your order below.

Timber bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoides) is native to China. A relatively fast-growing source of high strength timber offers a wide range of uses from scaffolding, furniture, paper, fabric and more. When we began offering chocolate bamboo over 10 years ago, the color was naturally dark. As is the case with so many imported products we found the color consistency to be wildly hit or miss so we developed and began using a wood stain process applied to our regular bamboo to create the darker chocolate color with much more consistent results.

Our custom floating shelves come with our own mega strong Übermächtig hardware. Lots of advanced DIY’ers have successfully installed our shelves however keep in mind some installations may require tools and skills that are beyond most DIY’ers in which case it’s a job for a seasoned and skilled finish carpenter.
